Looking after ourselves

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Hi everyone. I'm in awe of some of you for being so talented. Unfortunately I don't have an artistic bone in my body.

I'm into photography a bit and I have an awesome telescope so star, planet and moon gazing keeps me entertained for ages. Hope to get a solar filter soon so I can look at the sun too.

I got a tablet a couple of months ago and am hooked on a city building game. I also like the hidden object and match 3 games. Nothing wrong with an hour or so of game play every other day.

I collect leaves in the autumn and 4 leaf clovers in the summer. I seem to have the knack of finding them.  I want to make a nice collage with my autumn leaves one day and then put that in a picture frame. Just need the time to make a start. I love all the beautiful colors.

I've always wanted to learn how to play the sax and hopefully this year I can take some lessons.

I love hearing what other people like to do. Really love the idea of bingo. I think I might even know someone who would love to go. Hmmm, that could become addictive too.

I love reading and watching good movies _ new and old.

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Kiera80 love that clover idea !
I bought ( another ) second hand book about how to do that. You know........pasting organic things on paper.
I live on my tablet. My youngest son is supposed to give me an iPhone .....then I can get internet on my computer but he's been too busy to give it..............

Good to hear from you, my name is JA47Yr I'm 47 years old and pour out all my emotions, day to day stuff out. It's great to be with so many like minded individuals.

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Hi there

I have just joined a community theatre group, which is lots of fun.....

Before this had barely any hobbies due to work, family and flagging energy levels.

It has made life busier, but much more joyful.

Best wishes to all in their hobbies of choice!

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Welcome to the forums@MrsWho Smiley Happy

I've always thought that theater would be a great release of tension. You mentioned that while life is busier, you feel a lot more joy. May I ask how it brings you more joy (i.e., socialising, stress relief)?

BeHappy

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Thanks for the welcome Smiley Happy

I think the joyful bit comes from expressing creativity, fulfilling a life-long desire to do something and also meeting new people who don't know anything about me or my life - a chance to be fully myself!
