Seeking New Employment
Hi everyone,
I've been retrenched and am looking for work.
What should I do with new employers about my mental health issues?
Thanks for your advice.

Re: Seeking New Employment
I think what you tell the depends on how much your work is effected ? Can you sound the out on their opinion on the subject? Do they support other employees who have similar issues.
I have not had a positive experience telling my employer(s) so my opinion may not be of much help to you.
What I can tell you is that you are not alone - I’m in the same boat as you:)

Re: Seeking New Employment
I wouldn't bring it up in a job interview.

Re: Seeking New Employment
Hi @Rayzed_Edge
In my experience, a health check is only done for Govt positions after they cull and are prepared to employ you. You only need to declare you've had some issues with anxiety after some unpleasantness in your family. ( For example) As long as they're informed and you're truthful, the onus of accountability's on them for future stuff.
It's a risk, but if you lie, the consequences can be really difficult to deal with if you face bullying for instance. They can't say they didn't know if you're up front. Hope this helps...
Hope xo
