Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @MoonGal

The problem is I don't like any of the equipment for longer than 5 mins.. I get bored Smiley LOL So I tend to rotate around things. I guess if I had to pick, I would say the rowing machine.

I'm more of a team sports type of person, as I get bored very easily - just waiting for the season to start 🙂

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @MoonGal, @NikNik, @Appleblossom, @Mazarita, @CherryBomb,

about what you said @MoonGal ,You sound like you have your physical work and body needs well belanced. -- I have kidney diease stage 4 so i have to remember not to do too much or i pay for it , listening to your body is the most inportant you can do ,

so if you feel tired, don`t push yourself too hard , have a good day

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Not been doing so much walking lately, because the weather's been unpredictable, (lame excuse, lame excuse!) but I have been planking on my knees.  I was so happy that I'd managed 14 seconds until a friend (who is really fit and supportive of me exercising) showed me a '30 day planking challenge' where Day 1 is 20 seconds.  XD  Oh well... Maybe 14 seconds is good for me.  And they weren't rushed, either.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Thanks

I have been on water for about 15 years now ... since leaving hubby I am always carrying around water bottles.  Recently I upgraded and bought 4 stainless bottles from the internet for the household so we dont ingest toxins from cheap plastic.

@MoonGal your lumbar situation aint good ... I can imagine moving a lot is hard ... a little waddle is better than no waddle.  Dont be too hard on yourself.

My old heavy vacuum packed up a few months ago so downgraded on that score and got a cheaper lighter one but my back is loving me for it.Woman Happy

I also bought new bathers cos of all the chat about it and the fact that my old ones were falling off me ... yay and had 2 new swims ... still cant throw old ones away yet ... bloody hoarder I am.

Mostly its gardening, housework and walking at the moment.I spent about 20 years dedicated to various forms of exercise for my back and now I just want to see if I can strike a nice balance without being too regimental about it.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi everyone,

Just checking in with an exercise report.

Yesterday: nothing much in the way of exercise except a walk up, down and around a shopping centre.

Friday: walking to and from psychologist appointment, meetup with friend and errand at local shops.

Today: an hour or more walking on the beach and a dip in the ocean.

Less than my stated goals earlier in the thread but still feel okay about where I'm at. Smiley Happy

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Great to hear an update @Mazarita - 🙂 Goals are important but being happy with where we are at on any given day is more important! Thanks for sharing. I am on two days off from everything feeling a bit wobbly, back into it all tomorrow!

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Oh, I am in AWE of your 14 second planking! The problem with competing against other people is they are not you.
😉 We have to start where we are.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Thanks for the encouragement, @MoonGal

Good vibes headed your way for tomorrow! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

So *now* my friend tells me that I'm supposed to be planking twice a day!!! Tried to haul myself out of bed with my stomach muscles yesterday and they protested.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@CannonSalt - raising the bar! Good luck with it - muscle aches post exercise go away once they are fully tuned. (thats the silver lining....) 🙂

I have hit that place after the beginning of ever y exciting NEW adventure where I fall into the puddle of "meh". Still struggling with immflamuation issues. Walked 1.2 km yesterday, but so sore in all my joints and lower back today just can;t do it. Have to drive up to visit my mum today - that will be an endurance ride given my pain. So sorry i am not being all sparkly and encouraing, just fallen into a slumpy heap again (my brain is acting up too) , but this will pass.
