Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Oh wow! I am so glad this thread is going so well and encouraging us all towards doing good stuff for oursleves.

@Mazarita@Shaz51, @Former-Member, @Former-Member, @CherryBomb all the best to each of you!

Thanks for being here and sharing progress.

Unfortuantely, I now have a cold (or really bad hayfever)  and a face crop of cold sores! Sheesh, so i am feeling utterly rubbish. I still manged to go shopping, water the garden and do a bit of sweeping and raking but not alot else has happened. Don't want to get in the pool with coldsores.

I am quite sore in the joints too probably due to the immflammation respose to the hayfever/cold/cold sores and all the wlaking on he weekend. Grumble Grumble. bah humbug!

All things pass, i will get bouncing back I am sure!

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @MoonGal, what a pain and nuisance for you. I say you've done well today regardless.

I just checked the tides for tomorrow. Low tide (best time for walking) is 10.30am, so I've made a date with myself to get out there then!

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

hello MoonGal , hope you feel better soon

I agree with @Mazarita you've done well today regardless

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@Former-Member Thanks for the good wishes about tomorrow's walk. My favorite things about the beach: soft sand on the walk down to the shore; water lapping at the feet as I walk along the water's edge; the loud ebb and flow of the waves as they roll in and crash over and over. (Less welcome are the roaring jets that pass low overhead, lol). I usually look out at the ocean a fair bit, boats and swimmers and surfers. I also see people, sometimes with children, dogs, jutting rocks, headlands in both directions, the city skyline in the distance, the clouds. Sometimes there is a smile or hi with other walkers passing by.

@Former-Member I do need to do the physio exercises but that doesn't always get me motivated unfortunately. I also need to talk to the GP about it for the first time when she returns at the start of February. I probably should have it medically checked out given how limiting I am finding it. Thanks for the good vibes on tomorrow's walk. Congrats on the training today and I hope some good TV helps settle your moods tonight. Namaste.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Dear @Mazarita (my phone auto corrects your name to malaria!! Oh dear!!)

It is beautiful hearing you describe what you love about the beach. I love the warmth & feel of the sand, sunshine, the green & blue colours of the ocean, the waves crashing, feeling refreshed by the seawater when I swim in the ocean or splash the water on my face, the water lapping at my feet while walking along, sunbathing, the way it makes most & sometimes all of my anxieties disappear while I'm there... Sometimes I feel truly alive there! & I enjoy it all year round. Some similar things we both appreciate!

Thanks re. well done on training. I watched 1 & 1/2 episodes of Offspring & went to bed at 9pm. (I couldn't stay awake to get through the 2nd episode we were watching!) I woke at 5ish. I feel 'okay' after sleep, but I will do less today.

Thanks @Mazarita & @Former-Member ❤️

Namaste,

Anna

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@Mazarita... It is very friendly here in the country - I exchange good mornings with everyone I see walking or running around the lake. It gives you a sense of connection.

I understand re knowing you have to do something, but not doing it. My psychiatrist has been encouraging me to practise guided meditation for months. I have recently found some relaxing music cds & one guided meditation cd that I like from the library. (Partners in Recovery suggested trying to find them at the library!) I'm very fussy on the voice of the person guiding you through (fussy with yoga teachers too - they need to have a gentle voice). I found another guided meditation cd, but couldn't stand the voice. Anyhow, I'm blabbering... I did manage to do one guided meditation on Sunday. The cd is focused on healing of the body, but there is a worry-free one done by the same people which I can buy from abc when I can.

To get the topic back to exercise - it is hot yoga day for me!

Namaste,

Anna
